MIRUM® is manufactured in Illinois by the innovative biomaterials company NFW. The material is a combination of unused natural materials and recycled agricultural by-products, including natural rubber, vegetable oils and waxes, natural pigments and minerals. The carbon footprint of MIRUM® is only 5% of the impact of leather. It is also 30-40% compared to other animal leather-free alternatives such as polyurethane (PU). Some versions of MIRUM® are made from raw materials sourced through regenerative initiatives. These initiatives promote biodiversity and contribute to the regeneration of soil systems. Finally, it can be recycled at the end of its life cycle, enabling a circular economy.
