Hortus Sanitatis Enters The Alchemist’s Garden

The new eau de parfum exclusive to Gucci Boutiques and Dover Street Market

A new eau de parfum blossoms into The Alchemist’s Garden with the launch of Hortus Sanitatis. Latin for The Garden of Health, the scent is named in homage to one of the first natural history encyclopedias of the same name. Born from the encounter of Creative Director Alessandro Michele with Master Perfumer Alberto Morillas, Hortus Sanitatis features an unexpected blend of ingredients, for lovers of alchemic contrasts. Presented in a covetable aqua blue glass bottle, with red lettering and gold accents on the label, the special collector’s item is exclusive to Gucci Boutiques and Dover Street Market.

The Alchemist’s Garden Collection

Crafted from the blend of high-quality natural extracts and modern molecules, each fragrance and formula in the Alchemist’s Garden is inspired by the science of alchemy, telling the story of a place, a moment, or a memory. The singular scents in the eaux de parfum, acque profumate and oils are customizable and transformative when layered in a multitude of ways, allowing each wearer to curate a distinct identity, which linger in the air when worn.

The sophisticated Vetiver signature is built on the alchemic blend of two magnificent woods, Papyrus Wood and Cedarwood, whose encounter drives an ambery and smoky texture.
The raw freshness of the Vetiver roots is reinforced by hints of Ginger which brighten the rich and magnetic power of the multifaceted scent.
Both cold and warm, earthy and smooth, rough and soft, the fragrance is as sophisticated and contrasted as the graceful animal chosen to represent it: the cat.

Packaging

A collectable object for those who curate the aesthetic of their private worlds, Hortus Sanitatis joins a collection inspired by the jars and containers found on a wooden shelf in a vintage apothecary. Presented in aqua blue and finished with a delicate stopper that features a serigraphy of a cat, the glass bottle is distinguished by the Gucci logo, special red lettering and a cat face on the label. A symbol of seeming opposites, action and rest, light and dark, the cat roams the forest as the sun mottles the space around the trees.
Ornamental gold designs appear printed on the outside of the blue box, which mirrors the design flourishes of the flacon. The scent is presented in a moiré pouch and keepsake box.
