Thriston Lawrence Wins The OMEGA Masters 2022
Luxferity, 29.08.2022
Thriston Lawrence of South Africa has topped the leaderboard to win the 75th edition of the OMEGA Masters golf tournament. Contested at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Switzerland, Thriston Lawrence played superbly throughout the 4 days to claim a memorable victory.
His prize includes an OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra crafted in OMEGA’s exclusive 18K Sedna™ gold. The 41 mm timepiece features a sun-brushed blue dial with “teak” pattern stripes inspired by the decks of luxury sailboats, and is worn on a blue rubber strap. At its heart, the watch is driven by a Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement, with a standard of precision that any golfer would be proud of.
Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA said, “We send our sincere congratulations to Thriston Lawrence. It is always so special to feel the tradition and Swiss culture of this tournament, but of course, the golf is always the biggest highlight. His worthy win has now become a part of Crans-Montana’s illustrious history.”
Amongst the talented players on the spectacular mountain fairways this year were some of OMEGA’s own golfing friends, including Guido Migliozzi, Sean Crocker, Nicolai Hojgaard and Rasmus Hojgaard – who won the tournament last year.
Sanctioned by both the European and Asian Tours, the OMEGA Masters forges a strong bond between two golf-loving continents. Originally called the Swiss Open when it was first played in 1923, the high-altitude competition has remained at the same venue since 1939, making it the oldest golf tournament in Europe to be played on the same course every year. OMEGA claimed the naming rights in 2001 and has now witnessed over two decades of historic chips, putts and drives.
