Alaïa, the Parisian House renowned for its sculptural silhouettes and radical minimalism, has officially opened its first flagship store in China, nestled in the heart of Taikoo Li Sanlitun, Beijing. This two-floor boutique signals a bold expansion of the Maison’s presence across Asia, blending luxury, craftsmanship, and architectural artistry in a singular environment.
The Dune
Designed in close collaboration between Creative Director Pieter Mulier and Swedish architectural studio Halleroed, the space embodies Alaïa’s ethos: sensuality expressed through pure lines, sculptural forms, and refined minimalism.
The Petit Wave (Emerald)
A Facade of Sculptural Minimalism
The boutique’s façade, clad in solid Carrara marble, is punctuated by circular and rounded windows that reinterpret Alaïa’s iconic perforated motif. Monumental yet minimal, the exterior offers a fresh architectural dialogue that mirrors the Maison’s innovative design language, capturing both attention and imagination in the bustling Sanlitun district.

An Interior of Curves and Geometry
Step inside, and the same purity prevails. The ground floor features sweeping marble shelving units, sculptural podiums, and a curated selection of Alaïa’s signature leather goods, highlighting the Maison’s meticulous craftsmanship. The space is further enlivened by a pair of Paul Poiret-inspired cubic chairs, painted wood pieces that bridge the dialogue between curves and geometric forms—a subtle nod to Alaïa’s design vocabulary.

The upper level invites an intimate experience where clients can explore Alaïa’s full wardrobe, including ready-to-wear, accessories, and essential pieces. Strategically placed Philippe Malouin seating frames the signature windows, encouraging conviviality and reflection, hallmarks of Alaïa’s boutiques worldwide.
