Oscar De La Renta Presents Its New Pre-Spring 2023 Collection

For the Oscar de la Renta Pre-Spring 2023 Collection, Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia explore the textural and visual contrasts in the botanical world.

Inspired by the 16^th-century botanist and horticulturist, Doctor Charles de l’Ecluse, The New York Botanical Garden serves as the creative landscape of the collection where passionflowers, illustrated within the bright prints, purposely root the collection in Oscar de la Renta himself. The late designer was captivated by their harmoniously unrestrained presence outside of his vacation home in the Dominican Republic.

Draped chiffon and tulle are likewise unrestrained by form. Printed jersey pleated tops and removable sleeves modernize adaptability. Vivid colors tanzanite, daffodil, hyacinth, and amaranth allude to the subculture of the wildlife and its bold mystique. Cutouts, appliqués, and hand-beading add a playfulness to complement the classic elegance that is our mark.
