Luxferity, 04.10.2023
Borsalino launched its very own Garden of Eden, the initial stylistic inspiration for the new Spring-Summer 2024 collection of Jacopo Politi, Borsalino’s Head of Style, putting nature at the center of everything, while narrating a boundless desire for lightness. The new women’s collection premiered during the Milan Women’s Fashion Week 2023.
Jacopo Politi, as Head of Style for Borsalino, takes us into his very personal Garden of Eden to discover the new Spring-Summer 2024 collection, on an imaginative journey that celebrates Nature in all its forms. Everything is rarefied and fluid, from select materials to talented workmanship, from color nuances to highlighted accessories and creates a truly joyful collection that traces, outlines, and underlines the elegance of lightness.
The choice of materials is consistent with Borsalino's DNA and history, focusing on handcrafted natural fibers. It all starts with the Panama hat, in all its fineness, proposed this season in a style series of new Total White versions with a Fine weave (the Medea) and in Total Black with a glazed ‘wet effect’ finish (the Andrea). Other starring highlights include styles in Braided Papier, waxed Papier, Parasisol forms, and Raffia, this season’s top protagonist also available in braided, fringed, stitched or crochet variants, such as the promising best seller, the Ines beret. The material selection for Spring-Summer 2024 is airy and light, which the renowned hand craftsmanship of Borsalino artisans enrich with geometric motifs, embroidered hat bands and fringes.
White with its infinite shades of light, delicate pastel nuances and the precise selection of strong colors such as Hibiscus, Sunset e Tiger Blue define the chromatic scale of this collection that loves to play with decorative elements. Ribboned hat bands, multiple from classic grosgrain in select palettes of Emerald, Moon, Azalea and Turquoise, and by those in silk satin and decorative trimmings in jacquard twine, degradè or fringed raffia, baguette rhinestones and hand-embroidered sequins. Tassels, chains, and feathers frequently adorn the hats, transporting one into a joyful and carefree dimension. An absolute novelty are the removable earrings of the (Kris) model. And special mentions go to the incredibly light new summer felts in a range of shocking colors and a ‘ceremonial’ mini collection dedicated to those who love wearing hats on the most special of Spring occasions.
Top billing also goes to the rich Borsalino fabric collection featuring denim délavé, a feather light summer tweed and Sangallo lace as well as new ‘straw effect’ fibers. Starring new design shapes also include the noteworthy (Cardi) open-back baseball cap, the wide-brimmed (Miranda) and (Donna) cloches, the micro (Kori) and maxi (Yuri) bucket hats, the multi-pocket (Worker) bucket hats, the six-segment maxi visor (Sun) flat cap and finally, the (Kourtney) scarf visor.
The Borsalino Soft Accessories Collection is dedicated to the sea featuring a range of sarongs, caftans shawls, Twillys for the hair, elastic bands for hats and beach towels in displayed seasonal themes that celebrate the carefree nature of unforgettable summer moments.
