Chloé Arts Paris 2025: Francesca Allen Unveils “Konkursas” At Paris Photo

In a striking celebration of contemporary women’s creativity, Chloé returns as a distinguished partner of Paris Photo 2025, presenting Francesca Allen’s newest series, Konkursas, under the visionary guidance of Creative Director Chemena Kamali. As part of the second edition of Chloé Arts Paris, this exhibition exemplifies the Maison’s ongoing dedication to amplifying female perspectives in the arts.

Allen’s series offers an intimate view into Konkursas Pasaulio Ilgaplaukes, Lithuania’s annual competition for the world’s longest hair. Traveling to Kaunas in November 2024, Allen was drawn to the contest’s rare blend of pageantry and folklore. The resulting images capture participants walking the runway, having their hair meticulously measured by gloved judges, and participating in a ritualistic finale. The exhibition elegantly balances modernity and tradition, probing what it means to navigate girlhood in today’s world while honoring cultural ritual.

“Konkursas reflects Chloé’s ethos of celebrating women’s individuality, expression, and creative freedom,” notes Chemena Kamali.

In keeping with Chloé Arts’ mission, the series will be published in a limited-edition book in collaboration with German publisher Steidl in December 2025, extending the dialogue between visual art, contemporary culture, and womanhood.
