Alexander McQueen: Minerals and Metal Ores

The beauty of minerals and metal ores – of treasures hidden beneath the earth’s surface – inspire the Alexander McQueen Autumn/ Winter 2020 pre-collection: rich seams of gold, silver and copper run throughout. Glistening chainmail cables, double-faced Lurex rib knit and mesh dresses and gold satin-backed moiré tailoring are all featured. Adding to the shine are metal bar straps on glossed leather boots, miniature metal bags suspended from leather harnessing and signature metal clutches and polished gold belt buckles, dome chokers, rings, earrings and cuffs. Finished with either the signature skull handle or sculptural closure, the new soft pouches also reference the organic qualities of the jewellery and belts in the collection.
