India Mahdavi Unveils THINK LOVE. By Inez & Vinoodh For Project Room #21 In Paris
Luxferity, 14.11.2025
In the heart of Paris’s 7th arrondissement, India Mahdavi opens the doors to her Project Room #21 with THINK LOVE., an evocative and deeply sensorial presentation of new works by celebrated photographic duo Inez & Vinoodh. The exhibition runs from November 13 to December 12, 2025, offering a rare preview of key pieces from the major retrospective CAN LOVE BE A PHOTOGRAPH. 40 years of Inez & Vinoodh, set to open in March 2026 at Kunstmuseum Den Haag.

A Visionary Duo Revisiting 40 Years of Innovation
Few contemporary artists have reshaped the visual vocabulary of fashion and fine art as profoundly as Inez & Vinoodh. From the early 1990s onward, they became pioneers of digital image manipulation, pushing emerging technologies into realms of poetic and provocative storytelling. Their distinctive ability to merge visual seduction with conceptual depth has made them indispensable to both luxury fashion houses and major cultural institutions.

Equally accomplished in crisp black-and-white portraiture as in digitally constructed dreamscapes, they continue to bridge the worlds of fashion and art — choosing each medium and each venue with intention, narrative, and emotional resonance.

A Dialogue Between Past, Present, and New Technologies
The works presented in Project Room #21 exemplify the duo’s ability to innovate while reflecting on the evolution of their own practice. Shot in Marfa, Texas, as part of the multi-city exhibition Joy, In 3 Parts, curated by Kathy Ryan in collaboration with Apple, several images in the series were captured using the iPhone 17 Pro Max — a testament to the artists’ longstanding interest in expanding the possibilities of photographic technology.

By embracing cutting-edge tools while maintaining the emotional clarity and intimacy that define their work, Inez & Vinoodh continue to shape the future of luxury visual culture.

THINK LOVE. — A Triptych of Pure Emotional Radiance
At the center of the Project Room installation stands the work THINK LOVE., a triptych radiating both tenderness and striking contemporary energy. Its central image portrays artists Charles Matadin and Natalie Brumley locked in a passionate kiss beneath a translucent red veil. The scene captures a duality that lies at the heart of Inez & Vinoodh’s career: the ecstasy of romantic love and the introspective quiet of deeply personal connection.

The red veil becomes a symbolic lens through which love is refracted — an emotional filter, a portal, a cinematic gesture that transforms a fleeting moment into an icon of human intimacy.

India Mahdavi’s Paris Project Room: A Sanctuary for Creative Dialogue
