Check Out Sacai New Men's 2021 Autumn & Winter, Women's 2021 Pre Autumn Collection

Marking the house’s deep respect for the creativity that originates from the street, and resisting categorization, preconceptions and self-imposed ‘rules’, for sacai’s 2021 Autumn & Winter men’s collection, founder and designer Chitose Abe embraces the freedom that comes of splicing counter culture codes by exploring the transition from punk to hip hop, sacai style.

Playing with wardrobe vocabulary from two seemingly disparate and opposing street culture worlds, Abe finds a common language in the classical clothing archetypes that form the foundation of both, as well as being part of sacai’s vernacular and flexes her cross pollination to make a new proposition.

A new project with the artist KAWS celebrates a long held mutual admiration and friendship. A 21st century expression of the idea of ‘wearable art’, first inspired by the meeting of minds between Yves Saint Laurent and Piet Mondrian sees KAWS artworks applied, true to their original palette and form, to sacai’s men’s and women’s silhouettes.

The women's 2021 Pre Autumn collection continues with a series of simplified shapes that speak to a new ease, while amplifying the contrasts in the house’s hybridization. Tweed with chiffon; down with silk - a dialed up visual imbalance that makes for something new. Accessories, not least the elegant and classic silk foulard, become an important ingredient in the mix, melding with jackets, coats and dresses.
