The new Borsalino collection is built around the theme of Mirage, playing with shapes, colors, and new graphics. Technical materials and innovative processes support the stylistic research that enhances the manufacturing mastery of the artisans of Alessandria.
Borsalino returns to Pitti Immagine Uomo, scheduled in Florence from the 9th until the 12th of January 2024, unveiling the new Fall Winter ‘24/25 Collection, inspired by the theme of Mirage. After a journey through the Cosmos and the Garden of Eden, the vision of Jacopo Politi, Borsalino’s Head of Style, leads us into a desert of pure abstraction, a place of imaginary possibilities, where hats appear as sparkling mirages and unmatched masterpieces. The result is a deeply contemporary collection that plunges its roots into the manufacturing tradition and dances towards the future.
Just like mirages, always different from one another, the graphic elements pervade the collection giving the hats a kinetic and fleeting aspect: therefore, let’s make way to “scorched earth” patterns of wool felt, to ribbons with moiré effect thick stripes, and to two-tone weave leather laces. The aeronautic iconic bomber jacket inspires the reinterpretation of hats and caps in the typical sage green and orange tones. The Australia model promises to be a bestseller, with an original graphic silhouette with buttons to fold the brim and a Gaucho style chinstrap.
The collection is an ode to creativity that enhances the details of craftsmanship, without sacrificing experimentation and research. Many new materials: waterproof crushable felt, which adds functionality to the Borsalino style, wool and cashmere, characterized by an extraordinary softness, and finally the mélange felt, with an unmatched mottled effect.
Alongside the iconic Made in Alessandria felts, the collection of fabric and knitted caps has been enriched and expanded in a harmonious combination of innovative shapes and materials. Among the many latest innovations, the reversible wool and eco-shearling caps stand out, as well as the ones in crushable nylon and the luxurious reversible rain buckets, which combine the technical fabric with a precious cashmere yarn. The Storm System fabric of Loro Piana and the bamboo fiber proposals complete a collection that highlights the theme of the season.
