Rasmus Højgaard Wins The OMEGA Masters
Luxferity, 29.08.2021
The 74th edition of the OMEGA Masters golf tournament has been won by Rasmus Højgaard of Denmark. During four days at the top of the Swiss mountains, Rasmus Højgaard expertly navigated the course at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club to claim the 2021 title and take home the OMEGA winner’s watch.
The OMEGA Masters did not take place in 2020 due to the global pandemic, and it was therefore particularly exciting to see a full roster of talented players back in action – including OMEGA friends Guido Migliozzi and Sean Crocker.
Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA said, “We’re so happy to be back with friends, partners and players in this spectacular location. I’m also very pleased to congratulate Rasmus Højgaard on his win and would like to thank every golfer for their amazing efforts this year. It’s been a long time between tournaments, but the performances on display in 2021 were well worth the wait.”
Receiving his winner’s watch, Rasmus Højgaard was presented with an OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra. The 41 mm timepiece is crafted in OMEGA’s exclusive 18K Sedna™ gold and features a sun-brushed blue dial with “teak” pattern stripes inspired by the decks of luxury sailboats. Worn on a blue rubber strap, it is driven by a superb Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement, with a standard of precision that any golfer would be proud of.
Sanctioned by both the European and Asian Tours, the OMEGA Masters forges a strong bond between two golf-loving continents. This is a milestone year for OMEGA because it marks 20 years of the brand as title sponsor. Originally called the Swiss Open when it was first played in 1923, the high altitude competition has remained at the same venue since 1939, making it the oldest golf tournament in Europe to be played on the same course every year. OMEGA claimed the naming rights in 2001 and has now witnessed two decades of historic chips, putts and drives.
