Lionel Messi Stars In The New Louis Vuitton “Horizons Never End” Travel Campaign

Louis Vuitton reveals “Horizons Never End,” an exciting new travel campaign starring the recent world champion, Lionel Messi, for the Horizon luggage collection designed by Marc Newson.
Lionel Messi kicks off the campaign with his Horizon suitcase as his only travel companion. In a series of still images lensed by fashion photographer and filmmaker Glen Luchford, the football legend appears seated in an airport terminal, legs stretched out on his Horizon rolling cabin bag. In another image, Messi sits upon an iconic Louis Vuitton trunk placed amidst the planes of the airport tarmac, poised to strike out for far-flung adventures with his Horizon luggage in tow. Monogram football underfoot, the aura of the pitch remains never far off.
One of the most influential industrial designers of our time, Marc Newson has helped Louis Vuitton reshape the art of travel since 2014. His debut collaboration with the Maison appeared in the “Celebrating Monogram” collection, for which he created “the ultimate contemporary backpack” in bright, playful colors. He has since designed and engineered many Louis Vuitton travel essentials, including the ultra-lightweight Horizon Soft rolling luggage in thermoformed knit, in 2019, and an elegant modernization of the Pégase suitcase, in 2022.
First launched in 2016, the now-iconic Horizon collection by Marc Newson marked a true milestone in Louis Vuitton’s luggage family for its ingenious design, durability and superior functionality. Ultra-lightweight cases in molded mesh composite are covered in specially developed Monogram or Damier canvas and trimmed with natural cowhide, a nod to the Maison’s trunkmaking heritage. A highly maneuverable exterior trolley system with silent, miniature wheels offers 360° directionality while, inside, a generous, flat-bottomed interior optimizes packing space.
The first chapter of “Horizons Never End,” starring Lionel Messi, will break internationally in print and on Louis Vuitton social channels starting April 14th, 2023.
