The third collection for dunhill under Creative Director Simon Holloway, Autumn/Winter 2025 continues the core themes of English classicism, casual elegance and consistently appropriate wardrobing.

For the season, Holloway examined the athleticism embedded into the English Drape suit which was introduced in the 1930s by London tailor Fredrick Scholte and iconised by the Duke of Windsor. The blade-cut silhouette, with its natural sporting shoulder, along with the Duke’s stylistic panache, threads throughout the collection.

Opening with an exercise in varying shades of noble camel hair, topcoats, from rare pale blonde to classic gold and ginger in both single- and double-faced versions, are crafted in the House Bourdon-cut or as tailored balmacaans paired with coordinating blazers and wide-wale corduroys. Heralding the dichotomy of an Englishman’s wardrobe, these rakish ensembles graduate into the more regimental, with peacoats and bridge coats crafted in deep navy Melton and set with burnished brass buttons.

Acknowledging the importance of informal formality, refined coats, blazers and outerwear are layered with substantial sweaters knitted in heritage stitches, subtly patterned shirts and haberdashery. Core to the dunhill proposition, perfect tailoring for town is cut in formal chalk striped suits with immaculate double face topcoats in charcoal grey and navy blue.

Continually inspired by the dunhill archive, Holloway iterates the House icon car coats, referencing Alfred Dunhill’s first forays into clothing. Cutting them from charcoal grey suede shearling and fine wool whipcord, a further iteration is seen in a truly elevated double-faced ebony French lambskin, with a cashmere tartan bonded lining. The extraordinary double face technique is also utilised to craft a charcoal suede blazer with an inner face of fine wool cashmere tweed.

As is so true to the House, and to the eclecticism of British style, more expressive looks such as tattersall blazers worn with citrine cords and a clashing heather blue shirt imply a sense of playful hedonism.

As the collection explores the richness of winter clothes for town, Donegal tweeds artfully clash against velvet for day and subtle combinations of British windowpanes, gun club, tattersall and glen-checks in blazers, car coats and driving jackets, all layered with rugged yet refined cashmere overshirts and fine layers of knitwear.

The conclusion of this celebratory chapter reaches a high point of Tyrol-inspired pieces. A cavalry twill driving jacket with carved horn buttons, a gentlemanly Loden coat modernised by its double face construction and a striking alpine green blazer, are worn simply with a felt fedora and black cotton cashmere selvedge denim jeans. Growing and evolving season-after-season, eveningwear, whether cocktail or black tie, is a reserve that runs deeply through Holloway’s interpretation of the House DNA.

Smoking jackets, expressed in tie-print motifs including the House paisley, medallions and ‘neats’, are printed on velvet, ancient madder silk or wool twill. Paired with purposefully clashing printed silk accessories including bow ties, scarves and pocket squares, the focus on the beauty of the artfully mismatched adds to the House narrative of Great British style.

Cocktail graduates into black-tie as the two tenets of British taste are on full display. The opulence of tartan suits with matching coats are the height of English eccentricity. While stoic lounge suits in black velvet and perfectly plain midnight blue, midnight green and all-black barathea embody the House’s 131-years of tailoring finesse. New evolutions of existing footwear families feature throughout the season, adding colour, tone and texture to the ever-growing proposal. The Davies hybrid sneaker is reimagined in stone, opium and golden brown.

Continued iterations of the House leather goods icon ‘Century’ are seen throughout the collection. Accompanying a number of looks, purveying the importance of the growing collection, the high-level craftsmanship featured within the family showcases the elegance, artisanship and finessed evolution. New fabrications accompany the existing burnished and smooth iterations from previous seasons.

Classic and nubuck alligator is seen across the family but is notably highlighted in a beautifully capacious grey holdall. Close attention has been paid to carry-accessories attached to handles. Eyewear holders, Airpod cases, pocket watch sleeves and one for a watch-adorned dunhill Unique lighter round off the playful yet functional additions.
