Bvlgari transformed Taormina into a vibrant stage to unveil Polychroma, a collection that pushes the boundaries of High-End with around 250 new masterpieces. An exceptional showcase of 600
creations, including 5 milestone High Jewelry wonders and 60 millionaire pieces - the highest number ever presented by the Roman Jeweler.
Bvlgari chose one of Sicily's most captivating jewels, Taormina, where ancient beauty and contemporary allure merge in timeless harmony, to unveil Polychroma, its boundary pushing new High-End collection: a celebration of the infinite richness of color and emotional diversity. Almost 250 new creations of High Jewelry and High-End watches, including 5 milestone High Jewelry wonders and
60 millionaire pieces, the highest number ever presented, took center stage in an exceptional showcase featuring 600 masterpieces.
Among guests, a constellation of international celebrities, Global Ambassadors and Friends of the House such as Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Lisa Manobal. Viola Davis, Liu Yifei, illuminated the iconic night wearing enchanting Polychroma creations.
The enchanting night started at the Grand Hotel Timeo, where the gala dinner brought together art de la table and Sicilian flair on the location's panoramic terrace overlooking Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea. Caltagirone ceramics, neo-antique statues, and rich compositions of local fruit played in symphony with the colorful boldness of Polychroma. Every element recalled the collection's central themes, a vibrant fusion of the Eternal City's grandeur and the island's soulful textures.
The emotional peak of the event took place at the Greek Theater of Taormina - part of the Sicilian Region - Department of Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity - Archaeological Park of Naxos and Taormina -, where Polychroma was staged as a living contemporary performance in three acts, inspired by Greek tragedies. Models adorned with the collection's most emblematic masterpieces and wearing bespoke dresses by rising Italian fashion talent Francesco Murano, moved through a dreamlike scenography of majestic arches and veils. At the heart of this unique artistic dialogue was the performance choreographed by multi-award winning Sir Wayne McGregor, Resident Choreographer of The Royal Ballet and one of the most visionary figures in contemporary dance, whose creative direction elevated the entire staging to an unforgettable, immersive experience.
Echoing the grandeur of ancient theater, the veils and the velarium - shaping a metaphysical architecture - served as the fil-rouge uniting the entire experience, from the on-stage performance to the dinner and showroom, while the choreography brought the creative essence of the collection to life in a dramatic crescendo of expression, movement and color.
BVLGARI POLYCHROMA SHOWROOM
Bvlgari chose the San Domenico Palace as the perfect setting to bring its creations to life, reimagining the former convent from the XV century into its most ambitious Showroom to date, presenting, for the first time, an impressive display of 600 High-End creations, among which 60 millionaire pieces.
Draped organza veils - inspired by the velarium of the ancient theater - floated above sculptural displays that paid tribute to the Greco-Roman roots shared by the city and the Maison. Seven Carrara marble and gold leaf sculptures by artist Riccardo Gatti framed the most iconic pieces, while one-of-a-kind ceramic and volcanic stone elements by Sicilian duo Malagioie echoed the organic forms and rich palette of the collection. Colored marble and onyx niches, and fluted showcase towers completed the scenographic display.
A solemn, luminous space presented the Gallery of Wonders millionaire masterpieces - five extraordinary, milestones High Jewelry creations, each adorned with rare and exceptional gems. Here, textile reinterpretations of Zach Lieberman's digital artworks - a visual artist known for creating code-based interactive art - were beautifully translated into jacquard by historic Venetian weaver RubelIi. These colorful artworks hovered above a custom marble mosaic, featuring Bvlgari's eight-pointed star at its center, handcrafted in Ravenna and inspired by the Roman tiles of Piazza Armerina.
In the adjacent cloister, new tapestries recalling the artworks by Taormina-based painter Alessandro Florio added a local poetic touch, while a white-and-blue chevron carpet nodded to the cinematic heritage of the iconic Villa Boscogrande, the historic Palermo residence chosen by Luchino Visconti to film scenes of // Gattopardo (1963).
True to its pioneering spirit. Bvlgari also introduced three avant-garde innovation experiences. In Polychroma Theatre, a site-specific installation by visual artist Giuseppe Lo Schiavo, color and light animated a classical statue, turning its surface into a canvas of emotion and surrounding visitors in an immersive three-dimensional journey. The sculpture, located in the center of the room, is an original cast of La Menade Farnese. The authentic statue, dated to the roman imperial age and unearthed from the Baths of Caracalla between 15L.J5 -15L.J6, can be admired in the mosaic room at the Salinas National Archaeological Museum in Palermo.
Simultaneously, guests had the possibility to deeply explore Bvlgari's chromatic universe through Apple Vision Pro - an immersive Mixed Reality journey into the vibrant world of colored stones, blending the Maison's centenary expertise with cutting-edge technology.
Lastly, for the first time in the luxury world, digital technology meets High Jewelry with Bvlgari's introduction of Connected Jewelry. This innovative concept is enabled through ultra-fine micro-engraving, almost invisible to the naked eye, which transforms each piece into a gateway to its own unique story. A singular, unrepeatable code is etched directly onto the precious metal. providing instant access to detailed info about the jewels itself, such as materials, rarity, and craftsmanship. With a simple scan from a smartphone, the essence of the piece is revealed- ready to be discovered, stored, or shared.
