Brioni Presents Its New Spring / Summer 2022 Collection
Luxferity, 25.06.2021
As a response to the times, the Brioni Spring/Summer 2022 collection offers a reimagining of nonchalant Roman dressing through a versatile wardrobe of effortless silhouettes. New shapes inspire a relaxed approach to life, interwoven with appreciation for the artisanal craftsmanship and fine quality tailoring on which the House heritage is built.
Daywear is all about the understated details, and the sartorial suit returns as the protagonist for day to day with a contemporary reinterpretation, designed to ease the transition from working at home back to a dynamic urban lifestyle.
Design Director Norbert Stumpfl plays with notions of formal and informal tailoring. Shapes are looser, fabrics are even lighter, and hems are relaxed, creating comfort, breathability, and fluidity of movement. A super light 100% linen suit and a cooling seersucker are introduced, and suits are styled with shirts in denim or silk offering a relaxed alternative to formal shirting.
Looks in tonal colors, inspired by workwear attire are reinterpreted in luxurious materials and feature precious details. Leisurewear is offered in exclusive high performance fabrics including ultra-light technical silk and Sea Island cotton. Outerwear comes in ultra soft nubuck leather and in a sophisticated mix of suede and linen, wore with double layered knitwear crafted from Escorial wool, cashmere and silk blend and sustainable wool. All is offered in a seasonal colour palette of greens, browns, yellows and sky blues.
As part of Brioni’s commitment to sustainability and carrying the spirit of circular fashion, Spring/Summer 2022 also expands on the ‘Circular Upcyling’ capsule, a collection of garments crafted from unconsumed tie silk fabrics from previous collections which are redyed for a brand new use. Each piece is therefore unique.
Slow luxury and the beauty of hand-made is celebrated in statement eveningwear. The Veronese jacket is crafted from a brocade faithfully hand-woven on a late 19th Century Jacquard loom, in a delicate process that takes five months from start to finish. A dinner jacket in faille ombré silk is meticulously woven by hand using numerous shades of the same colour to create a tonal masterpiece. A summer interpretation of the tuxedo, the ‘Leggera tuxedo’, is created from a near weightless double-splittable linen with super light silk satin details – this jacket is as light as a shirt.
To compliment the look, silver jewelry hammered by hand in Italy, large backpacks in grained calfskin and crocodile, the Arazzo weekender crafted from hand-loomed tapestry, crocodile slides and thong sandals in vegetally tanned leather.
The collection is designed with the practical needs of a modern man in mind, whilst injecting joy and comfort into elegant and sophisticated dressing.
