Remembering Giorgio Armani: A Visionary Who Shaped Global Luxury

A Life Dedicated to Elegance and Innovation

Indefatigable to the very end, Giorgio Armani worked until his final days, dedicating himself not only to his eponymous company but also to the collections and future projects that embodied his unique vision. Over five decades, he redefined fashion with a signature style rooted in sophistication, clarity, and independence.

His minimalist yet powerful aesthetic not only transformed haute couture and prêt-à-porter but also extended to lifestyle, interiors, design, hospitality, and fragrance—crafting an all-encompassing universe of Armani elegance.

The Spirit of Milan and Beyond

Giorgio Armani’s influence stretched far beyond fashion. His deep devotion to Milan, the city he considered home, underscored his philanthropic work and community initiatives. Always attentive to the needs of others, Armani became a beloved cultural figure—respected for both his relentless creativity and his profound humanity.

Through his vision, he built Armani into more than a fashion empire: it became a way of life, merging beauty, function, and authenticity.

Independence as a Guiding Principle

Throughout his career, independence remained Giorgio Armani’s hallmark—of thought, action, and creative direction. His company, founded in 1975 and meticulously nurtured over fifty years, stands as a reflection of these values.

Today, Armani’s family and employees reaffirm their commitment to safeguarding his legacy:

“In this company, we have always felt like part of a family. Today, with deep emotion, we feel the void left by the one who founded and nurtured this family with vision, passion, and dedication. But it is precisely in his spirit that we, the employees and the family members who have always worked alongside Mr. Armani, commit to protecting what he built and to carrying his company forward in his memory, with respect, responsibility, and love.”

A Private Farewell

A funeral chamber will be open to the public in Milan at the iconic Armani/Teatro, Via Bergognone 59, on September 6 and 7, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. In accordance with Giorgio Armani’s personal wishes, the funeral ceremony will remain private.

A Timeless Legacy

Giorgio Armani leaves behind not just a brand, but a cultural legacy—one defined by elegance, discretion, and vision. His influence on the fashion industry and global luxury culture will remain eternal, continuing to inspire generations to come.
