Stella McCartney: Autumn Winter 2020 swimwear brings the holiday to the everyday
Stella McCartney, 12.08.2020
The percussion of waves, the caress of wind against skin, the taste of saltwater – many of us have been fantasising of getting away. Reflecting a world where travel is limited, but sunshine is not, Stella McCartney Autumn Winter 2020 swimwear collection brings the holiday to the everyday; a youthful, pared-back approach that makes a splash whether on a beach vacation or a poolside staycation.
Autumn Winter 2020 embodies two spirits: the exuberance, effervescence and escapism of a holiday in the sun; and the boldness, functionality and modernity of the urban woman. Creative duo Melanie and Ramon captures our bold, energetic signature on a minimalist shoot in Paris – distilling sunlit serenity through bright shadows and exposed skin.
Diving into unstructured silhouettes and dynamic details that remain inclusive and effortlessly flattering, statement pieces include our wavy Ruched Onda print swimsuits and coverups, Fringes bikinis and one-pieces, ready-to-wear-inspired Ruched Orange motifs and athletic, logo-trimmed Sporty Elastic styles. Rich shades of maroon, ruby cherry and blush are also energised by pops of vermillion and fuchsia as well as classics like black, nude and ivory.
Riding a responsible wave as always, pieces are created almost entirely from environmentally friendly fabrics like Econyl® and Q-NOVA® regenerated nylons, made from ocean plastic and textile waste, alongside organic cotton totes, coverups and eco logo tapes – making AW20 our most sustainable swimwear collection to date.
