"THIS IS A COLLECTION CHARGED WITH ENERGY AND MOVEMENT, BURSTING WITH VIBRANCY. IN MY VISION, OFF-WHITE™ STANDS ON ITS OWN, IN A NICHE OF LUXURY THAT IS NOT QUIET, AND NOT EVEN LOUD, BUT PLAYFUL. WE ARE BACK! BLACK BY POPULAR DEMAND."

The spark of this collection was ignited in Japan, when I was struck at once by the magic and grace of local traditions and the big influence Americana has had on the country’s culture. That led me on a path of thought on and around cross-pollination. I reflected on how much American culture, and from that Western culture, has been influenced by Black culture. Just think of music and style, from jazz to hip hop. Our work this season is an homage to such enduring and traveling influences, from a joyous and playful angle. So playful, in fact, that the show happens on a giant Ludo game board. We are certainly not holding back in imagining fashion with a capital F, as in FUN.
Mens and womenswear will be presented today: they stem from an identical vision but are expressed in different ways. In my idea of equality between the sexes, I aim at making women fierce and powerful as I soften men and possibly make them cuter, while playing with the Off-White™ distinctive codes such as the arrows, which become as useful and playful as straps or cross collars. Women’s is all about draping as a way to convey a seductive feeling that is modern and yet rooted in the primal urge to wrap fabric around the body. I am embracing color and print with unprecedented abandon, discovering the wowness of mix and match as we layer stars on flowers, stars on arrows, and stir dices and butterflies. Faux furs, dramatically long coats, but also metallic shredded trenchcoats and dresses have a certain presence. Standing tall on high heeled cuissardes, the Off-White™ women are a vision of empowerment, with some hints of Japanese grace. Men’s silhouettes on the other end are clean and roomy: a softened take on the 90s, with cute touches such as cardigans with jolly buttons. Oversized rugby polos and hoodies set the tone, together with faux fur coats. What’s more American than basketball? We paired with Wilson to make basketball holders as bags, but basketballs are also deconstructed into padded sneakers that make me very proud of the result.
This is a collection charged with energy and movement, bursting with vibrancy. In my vision, Off-White™ stands on its own, in a niche of luxury that is not quiet, and not even loud, but playful. We are back! Black by popular demand.
