Creative Director Fang Yang: A Vision Rooted in Heritage and Innovation
As a child in Shanghai, Fang Yang discovered the poetry of zhezhi, the traditional Chinese art of paper folding. Guided by her grandmother, she learned to transform simple sheets into stars, flowers, and animals — gestures that would later shape her design philosophy.

While her creative roots lie in Chinese tradition, it was in Paris that Fang crystallized her vision. At ESMOD, and through her encounters with contemporary art, she found a way to merge her heritage with Parisian elegance. “I wanted to work with silk and other fabrics the way I had worked with paper,” she recalls.

In 2009, she unveiled her first ready-to-wear collection, Vernissage by Fang, in Paris. By 2015, she founded by FANG, a couture maison where heritage and modernity coexist with quiet strength.
