  • OMEGA

Known for being a part of taking humanity to the moon and back, the Omega Speedmaster holds a special place in human history. The Speedmaster Chronograph, first introduced in 1957, was chosen by NASA to be on the wrists of US astronauts as they rocketed to the moon, a first in human history. In 1975, amidst a hesitant “détente” of the Cold War between then-superpower nations USA and the Soviet Union, the two countries carried out their first joint international space mission. To commemorate the legendary event, Italian retailer Fratelli de Marchi ordered a limited edition of 500 Speedmaster chronographs, called the Apollo Soyuz. Lot 24 is number 499, and therefore the last one in this series to have been produced.
