when they first came to this adult toy shop…
they were lost…
today they will find their true selves...
their toy selves…
welcome to my teddy talk…
and now, welcome my favorite new yorkers...
behind the towering doors of thom browne’s adult toy shop, 500 teddybears assemble in excitement. led by the chairbear, they’re hard at work to unite two halves of a whole.
the chairbear’s favorite new yorkers first came to the toy shop looking for their true selves. today, they find them. the adults enter the toy shop in tweed tailoring, classic and play like. shades of gray are layered with silk mogador jacquards in collegiate colors—red, white, and blue paired with gold, green, and orange. handcrafted cashmere knits bridge heritage fabrics and vibrant silks.
the bears burst into cheer as the adults meet their lost toy selves. childhood memories are brought to life in unexpected proportions—among them, a spiral of paper dolls, a jumbled rubik’s cube, a rocket ready for take-off, and a cluster of puzzle pieces. alphabet blocks, tie silk platforms, and bead maze heels. clutch bags in the form of cars, patchwork lobsters, and thom’s dachshund hector, the adults carry signature mr. and mrs. thom bags that imitate their ensembles.
