Tanya Taylor Presents Her New Fall 2024 Collection

Fall is focused on feminine charm, the idea that strength and desirability can co-exist. I started the season with an obsession over the color charcoal gray because I wanted to challenge a moody, traditionally masculine color to become soft and mysterious. Same with our woman; through the collection we built a personality around her that is a mixture of classic, discreet and grounded but also unexpected and alluring.

Styling became a critical part of telling this story. Polka dot printed airy taffeta is cut in voluminous shapes and worn with classic trousers. Oversized trench coats in chocolate brown suede compliment sky blue satin ankle grazing dresses. Nostalgic Fair Isle angora knits are reimagined in space dyed yarns and worn with tailored stone wash denim and jumbo fringed scarves. Throughout the collection, silhouettes work with the body, not against it and fabrications have a thoughtful movement to make women's lives easier and less fussy.

Pinched or nipped shapes have been replaced with a freedom of silhouette that feels romantic and modern. Velvet bows are unsweetened by their extreme lengths, draping to the floor and finished with oversized pearl embroidery. There is a new sense of dressing up that permeates throughout the collection – silk fringe, jet black decorative embroidery on menswear shirting, bias skimming dresses with embellished bodices – all materials are meant to enhance a sense of play and bring a flirtatious femininity to the collection.
