In doing so, he has left behind a legacy that continues to capture the hearts of car enthusiasts all over the world.

Having developed a passion for automobile racing as a boy, the 25-year-old Ferrari, won his first race at the Circuito del Savio in Ravenna on 17th June 1923. His professional training as a constructor perfectly prepared him to found his own racing team, Scuderia Ferrari in 1929. By the late 1950s, the Ferrari brand was famous all over the world with sales more than tripling between 1950 and 1960, leading to Enzo Ferrari implementing a series of changes to accelerate the growth of the company and the production of new models in the 1970s.
The Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Special Edition Giallo Modena features a cap and barrel in a striking colour that evokes Ferrari’s second soul: yellow, or “Giallo Modena”, the colour of the city of Modena where Enzo Ferrari was born and the company was founded. The silhouette of the writing instrument is inspired by the design of the legendary Ferrari 500 model, winner of the first Formula One World Championship for the Scuderia Ferrari in 1952.

The back of the cap reveals the legendary Prancing Horse logo of Ferrari accompanied by a famous quote from Countess Paolina di Biancoli, mother of the legendary Italian aviator Francesco Baracca, who first suggested Enzo put the symbol on his cars in 1923: “Le porterà fortuna” (“It will bring you luck”). The writing instrument’s clip is engraved with a special Enzo Ferrari quote: “You cannot describe passion, you can only live it”. The lines that adorn the side of the cap are inspired by three inward-facing vents, while the six lines on either side of the ruthenium-coated metal clip represent a Ferrari V12 engine, a nod to the marque’s speed and engineering prowess.
As a reference to his father, the ring on the cap top is engraved with “OFFICINA MECCANICA ALFREDO FERRARI”, an homage to his workshop and birthplace. The ruthenium-coated metal cone features two engraved dates marking the birth of Enzo Ferrari on 18-02-1898 as well as his first victory on a racetrack at the Savio Circuit on 17-06-1923. The nib of the writing instrument, crafted from solid Au 585 gold and coated with ruthenium, is embellished with an embossing of a steering wheel of a Ferrari 250 GTO accompanied by “Pilota”, one of the famous nicknames given to Enzo Ferrari. The Montblanc emblem that crowns the Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Special Edition Giallo Modena in a deep blue colour mirrors the second colour of the city of Modena. The emblem is embedded in a metal grid that resembles a vintage car grill.
