MCM Channels Martial Arts Philosophy Into Motion At Milan Fashion Week 2025
Luxferity, 28.09.2025

Milan Fashion Week 2025 witnessed a masterful fusion of discipline and innovation as MCM unveiled a Taekwondo-inspired collection at Casa degli Artisti. Celebrating the art of motion, the presentation reflects the brand’s journey toward its 50th anniversary in 2026, combining luxury craftsmanship with the philosophy of balance, respect, and controlled movement intrinsic to Taekwondo.
Under the creative direction of Dirk Schönberger, Chief Brand Officer, MCM reimagines martial arts aesthetics into high fashion statements.
Oversized belts morph into strapless dresses, judo knots anchor sculptural mini dresses, and Zen uniforms—crafted from vests, crisp shirts, and pleated balloon trousers—showcase the dialogue between discipline and freedom. Quilted bomber jackets and white boxy jackets constructed from judo belts fuse tactical precision with luxury innovation, while double-breasted blazers paired with wide trousers embody the fluidity of martial poise.
“We explored movement—not just physical, but cultural and emotional. Inspired by Taekwondo, every piece reflects balance, respect, and dynamism,” says Schönberger.
Materials play a pivotal role in this collection. Cotton judo, canvas, wool, and functional jersey imbue garments with resilience and tactile strength, emphasizing MCM’s vision of apparel as an extension of the body in motion.
The immersive presentation, titled MCM: THE ART OF MOTION, transformed Casa degli Artisti into a design dojo. Guests experienced kinetic installations and an AI hologram created with Capsa Studio, blending digital innovation with martial arts tradition. Complementing the runway, MCM showcased a curated selection of luxury leather goods from its Spring/Summer 2026 collection during a private event, giving select attendees an exclusive preview of the brand’s evolving aesthetic.
MCM’s latest collection is more than fashion—it is a performance of movement and luxury, reflecting the brand’s ethos of transformation, freedom, and forward-thinking design.
