Karl Lagerfeld Presents Its New Spring-Summer 2023 Womenswear Collection
Luxferity, 09.12.2022
KARL LAGERFELD announced its Spring-Summer 2023 womenswear collection. A vibrant look into the possibility of new worlds, the collection fuses the brand’s classic codes with Mars-inspired fantasy and an ever-growing focus on more sustainable design. A warm color palette of burnt sienna and rust orange is enriched with pops of vivid turquoise and pink, plus soft lemon and lime. Design Director Hun Kim reinterprets a curated selection of archive pieces that embrace the season’s other-worldly inspiration through voluminous silhouettes, image-driven features and refined tailoring.
Early summer days are all about vibrant color, wild prints and unexpected silhouettes. A flowing, pleated maxi dress perfect for special occasions showcases the red planet’s terrestrial hues in ethereal dégradé, while tailored outerwear and bright suit separates command attention in burnt sienna for the work week. The season’s bold print reveals untamed style, with orange-toned leopard-print gracing a waist-tied shirt dress, wide-leg trousers and an open-back silk shirt. The season’s planetary inspiration shines through retro cut-out details and voluminous silhouettes — perhaps best exemplified by a circular cut-out bodysuit and a billowing transformer raincoat reimagined from Karl’s archive and made from recycled nylon.
Embracing the brand’s DNA codes, broderie anglaise appears on an oversized white shirt dress, a showstopping KL-embroidered lace coat and an airy, lemon-flavored summer suit that works as well at the office as a warm evening out. Meanwhile, orange bouclé panels playfully elevate casual denim separates, lending intrigue, texture and a touch of Parisian chic.
As the heat rises, lemon and lime creamsicle shades provide a refreshing treat for high summer, including the new fashion-forward assortment of Ikonik 2.0 separates made with more sustainable dyes. Monochrome looks are a breeze to build with an off-the-shoulder, ecovero-blend dress and lightweight tailored coat in soft yellow or a monogram-clad, keylime jacket and pants set.
