Salvatore Ferragamo And Molteni&C At The Supersalone 2021: Iconic International Design Pieces Meet The Heritage Of This Florentine Brand

Milan Design Week 2021 and the Supersalone (5-10 September 2021) see further collaboration between Salvatore Ferragamo and Molteni&C with presentation of a special installation in the Ferragamo Donna e Uomo boutique in Via Montenapoleone. A unique partnership between the Florentine brand’s DNA and icons from the Molteni&C Heritage Collection that is all about artisan knowhow, technological innovation, passion and sustainable sensitivity that both brands share.

From 2 to 19 September, the Ferragamo Flagship Store will be hosting an immersive experience that embraces the wondrous creations of Gio Ponti, Aldo Rossi, Yasuhiko Itoh and Luca Meda, some of the most original interpreters of contemporary international design.

On show in the boutique’s windows, the Round D.154.5 armchair by Gio Ponti—re-edited by Molteni&C more than 60 years after the original idea—meets a Ferragamo icon: the Gancini symbol. Also called Otto Pezzi, or “eight pieces” after the number of elements it comprises, this little armchair is upholstered in an exclusive Gancini print fabric, made entirely from natural fibres. Round D.154.5 is also a product whose original design was already industrially responsible, with a view to reducing assembly, production and even packaging and transport to a minimum.

Together with Round D.154.5, the shop windows will be featuring the fabulous Carteggio secrétaire by Aldo Rossi, the D.847.1 writing desk by Gio Ponti, the MHC.2 bookcase by Yasuhiko Itoh and the Piroscafo bookcase by Aldo Rossi and Luca Meda, a project that is 30 years old this year and for the occasion will be presented in a special shade of sky blue, part of the Salvatore Ferragamo Autumn-Winter 2021 collection.

Inside, the boutique also showcases the D.154.2, D.153, and D.156.3 armchairs and the D.552.2 and D.555.1 coffee tables by Gio Ponti, which will create sophisticated contemporary leisure spaces in harmony with the Ferragamo mood.

To make the experience even more immersive and engaging, the Ferragamo shop windows will have QR codes attached to them: an invitation for visitors to discover the entire Heritage collection by Molteni&C, as well as the history behind the pieces on show and related interesting facts.

The dialogue between fashion and design continues in the Molteni&C showroom, where a selection of accessories from the new Ferragamo 2021 Autumn-Winter collection will interact with exclusive furnishings.
