Bulgari Launches The Second Edition Of The Swiss Genius
Luxferity, 14.03.2023
After the success of the first edition, the Italian jeweler launches once again the Swiss Genius, a challenge designed by and for Bulgari, rewarding the most relevant student project, focusing on one main topic: Innovation in Corporate Social Responsibility. The contest is in partnership with Luxury Tribune and the Swiss Center for Luxury Research.
CSR is at the heart of Bulgari’s development strategy and plays a key role in its daily operations. With Swiss Genius, Bulgari aims to give the stage to the young generation, to have them share their vision and their expectations on the SDG of a luxury company. The students are challenged to embrace this mission with an innovative and entrepreneurial approach, through the development of a project of their choice, around one main topic:
How can a luxury brand inspire younger customers through innovation in Sustainable Development Goals?
The award is open to students pursuing their master’s degree. University of Neuchâtel & Glion Hotel Management School have joined the contest this year, bringing the number up to six participating universities. They will compete with students from HEC Lausanne, University of St. Gall, Zurich University of Applied Sciences and Università della Svizzera Italiana.
The project needs to be tailored around six possible managerial themes: Supply Chain& Sourcing, Sustainability, Product (or related), Branding & Communication, Human Resources, or Philanthropy, and present an innovative solution to the brand, through innovative CSR-focused development and design.
Among all applications, 10 projects will be selected to be further developed. The selected teams will have the opportunity to work with an internal coach from Bulgari, aiming to benefit from their professional expertise.
“Following the last year’s success, I am thrilled about the opportunity to launch the second edition of Bulgari Swiss Genius. It is really a project embedding Bulgari’s values and trust in the power of future generations. The challenge of attracting young consumers entails the continuous improvement of our sustainable practices along the entire supply chain, which relies also on the onboarding of new expertise and talents. At Bulgari, we strongly believe that a talented and diverse workforce is a key competitive advantage leading to innovation and multi-faceted creativity.”Eleonora Rizzuto – Bulgari CSR Director.
The jury is composed of renowned stakeholders in the field of sustainability and the luxury industry: Cristina D’Agostino – Editor in Chief Luxury Tribune, Felicitas Morhart – Founder of the Swiss Center for Luxury Research, Eleonora Rizzuto – CSR Director Bulgari & LVMH Italia and Tamu McPherson – Bulgari Global CSR ambassador.
They winning team will be announced on July 4 during the final award ceremony in Zurich.
The winners will be invited to Bulgari’s HQ in Rome to present their project to the Global CSR team, in addition to a full tour of Bulgari’s workshops and offices.
Among all pre-selected participants, two students will have the opportunity to join Bulgari for a three-month paid internship within the CSR team in Rome and within the Watch Business Unit in Neuchâtel, having their resume carefully reviewed by Bulgari HR to facilitate their possible recruitment.
The Swiss Genius takes place in Switzerland, once again ranked as the most innovative country in 2022.
