Botter Presents Its New Fall/Winter 2024 Collection: Dark Waters

Representing the fusion of music, literary, culinary and origins, that all together forms the rich and hybrid Caribbean culture. BOTTER’s identity combines its ‘Caribbean Couture’ spirit, as well as its glance towards Arte Povera’s philosophy, together with a strong sustainability consciousness.
This season there is a sense of peaceful confidence, a clear next step of growth. Realistic dressing, it’s an evolution while maturing. Defining and refining the silhouet. Lisi and Rushemy needed a sense of rationality, there is no time for fantasy, what we need right now is to be grounded in the world and reality.
Reevaluating techniques, materials, and styles, resulted into leaving out and purifying to an understandable garment. Reworking the pattern of a trousers into trenchcoats and dresses, creating this airy balloon shaped garment while walking. Deep diving into fragmentation, inspired by the Caribbean culture, where strokes of multiple quality fabrics and colors are combined into one palette.
The collection consists of close attention to detail and realistic depictions, while the poetry is found in the techniques. The needle punch technique, born in the 19th century, is used to blend two clashing garments together, like a blazer and a coat or a shirt sleeve together with a blazer sleeve. Creating a soft cloudy line made from raw wool fibre, just like running waves. Circular denim up cycled, raw edges unraveling and creating poetry in the threads.
Darkness of the deep water is translated in the color use, deep green and deep blue combined with sandy beige and flashes of vibrant colors. The loose hanging yarns from the raw edges, the soft fluid wool flower jacquards and crispy Japanese twill wools are only a few of the textures found in the collection. Under water scenes sprayed by Gaétan Gris. Weathered and used bike saddle bags are accessorizing the collection together with the iconic Stacked Derby Soccer Cleat shoe.
Botter and Reebok’s latest collaboration seamlessly merges street fashion, athletic performance, and cultural influences. Inspired by the vibrant street football culture of the Caribbean, specifically the island of Curaçao, the Botter x Reebok collaboration, incorporates elements of water reminiscent of Botter’s signature blue. Highlights include a sleek nylon tracksuit, a padded jacket featuring the distinctive Botter logo alongside the iconic Reebok vector on the back, a padded polo shirt, a crewneck with a trompe-l’oeil collar and a divided cap, showcasing the fragmented technique used throughout the collection. Beyond the apparel lineup, the collaboration introduces two new colorways of the popular Energia bo kéts.
Show music by Bnnyhunna, an emerging artist from Amsterdam, has cultivated a distinctive sound influenced by a diverse musical upbringing. His fusion of hip hop, R&B, and afrobeats, coupled with a commitment to authenticity.
