On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile 2025, on the 25th anniversary of the founding of Armani/Casa, Giorgio Armani presents the Oriental Inks collection in-store at 14 Corso Venezia. The designer returns to a meaningful space with a special display, which can be visited inside the boutique, but is also visible through the fifteen shop windows, thus emphasizing the sense of deep connection with the city.

“Dialogue with the city of Milan has become an essential part of my work as a creative and entrepreneur. This is even more so during the Salone when the city is so alive and cosmopolitan. After two years at Palazzo Orsini, I wanted to focus attention on the store on Corso Venezia, a dynamic space designed to adapt to ever-changing configurations, creating new visual experiences. The display and the new pieces, authentic examples of the highest level of craftsmanship, are visible through the windows to anyone passing by. I quite like the idea of a surprise that captures attention, a suggestion that broadens horizons, now that horizons are often becoming narrower”, said Giorgio Armani.

In the collection, the pragmatism of form and a taste for décor come together in a unique and thrilling balance, made possible through antique craftsmanship and the utmost attention to detail. Fine materials and complex workmanship give light and texture to the furniture and accessories, the stars of a display designed to enhance their beauty. The story unfolds along a path marked by a series of rooms created using large walls with rice paper panels, like in Japanese interiors. Emphasis is placed on the quality of the watercolours or ink drawings typical of far-off aesthetics.

Traditionally depicting bamboo, dragons – auspicious symbols of strength, flexibility and endurance – and the dense vegetation of the jungle, these decorative works of art are the starting point for exploring sophisticated techniques that allow these motifs to be applied on fabrics, fine woods and lacquered surfaces. Figurative and chromatic charm bears its most surprising fruit in the special series of pieces covered in entirely hand-embroidered satin and velvet. The project, which involves hand-painting and hand-crafted embroidery specialist de Gournay, represents the perfect synthesis between creativity and art. Crafted on satin and velvet using up to fifty different materials – including sequins, metallic and silk thread, glass beads, wool satin and silk organza – these embroideries embellish unique furniture pieces, as if they were extraordinary couture gowns.

A delicate shade of light gold perfuses the collection. Like in the VIRTÙ cabinet, with a handle reminiscent of a Katana sword, whose all-new version features a light wood surface embellished with a winding dragon in gold leaf. The satin upholstery the three-seater sofa from the ALBERT series is also golden, with a jungle motif running through it. The remarkable hand-embroidery adds vividness, depth and a special texture to the figurative motif. The dragon theme is then echoed in the embroidery on the lichen green velvet that upholsters the new version of the SEINE console: the design, trimmed with metallic thread and beads, takes on three dimensions which accentuate its movement and energy.

Among the new items in the collection: the PLAY interlocking bookcase; the AMBRA padded chair with a curved backrest and a canaletto walnut wood frame; the lacquered round table with satin-finish light brass bamboo-motif base and a matching padded armchair from the VIVACE series; the large TROCADERO table featuring a delicate geometric motif obtained with brass filaments immersed in black lacquer; the VISO two-seater sofa and armchair with a softly rounded shape; the OPEN pouf and the coffee table with stitched leather details.

The refined neutral palette is broken up with strong and unexpected colours: the viridian green of the new AMEDEO bed, with its padded structure and fine silk upholstery entirely hand-embroidered with a jungle motif that continues on the bedspread and the bolster pillows; and the intense red of the lampshade of the ALADINO floor lamp.

The world of accessories combines usefulness with aesthetics: the set of AMELIE boxes, covered in velvet and matching the series’ frames; the VADUZ small personal salt and pepper set or the VENTO version with a bamboo motif; the ASTRO napkin holder and decorative spheres in golden metal with a perforated logo. For lighting, new products include the AUDREY metal table lamp with fringe, as well as the ANTHEA series, which features a table lamp and the first pendant lamp with a diffuser in thin selenite plates, giving off a soft and suffused light. Finally, adorn your table with the ARTHUR dinnerware set in white porcelain; the ANNABEL logoed cutlery; the glasses, transparent white bottle and jug from the ORSINI series; and the teal fabric MISTRAL baskets. The ARCADIA linen set consisting of a place mat, coaster and napkin, all in natural colours, elevates the art of traditional openwork.
