Phoebe Dynevor In Custom Victoria Beckham At The Met Gala
Luxferity, 07.05.2024
Yesterday night marked a first for Victoria Beckham as the brand unveiled its inaugural custom Met Gala look created for rising British star, Phoebe Dynevor.
Pop Up Lame Copper
Nodding to this year’s theme (Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion), the atelier used archive lace and tulle to create the ethereal, romantic gown. At once fragile and delicate, yet with a strong, statement silhouette, the custom piece speaks to the brand’s signature of juxtaposing and balancing the masculine and the feminine, while reflecting Phoebe as an individual — a classic English rose and a fearless actress with immense strength of character.
Showcasing over 350 flowers, each one was hand-cut, hand-dyed in ‘Faded Rose’, a custom colour created to match her skin tone, and hand stitched onto the bespoke lace, while heavier fabrics were layered underneath the more delicate tulle.
Gold Blossom Convertible Double Drop Earrings
Posing on the infamous Met Gala steps, the actress wore bespoke lace appliqué underpinnings, as well as Bucherer jewellery and shoes by Italian label, Paris Texas.
Playing once again with contrasts, Phoebe’s after party dress and flower tights come to us straight from the brand’s AW24 runway and offsets her red-carpet gown’s romantic fragility with a strong, sexy silhouette. A bold experiment in volume, shape and texture, the head-turning silhouette is a testament to Victoria Beckham’s willingness to constantly surprise as she evolves the brand’s design vocabulary.
Mist Premier Bag
Completing the look were the brand’s Destiny sandals in black satin and the Frame Flower minaudiere, for a polished take on after dark glamour.
